Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit ~Ano Yama ni, Mou Ichido~, the first video game to be inspired by the Encouragement of Climb anime adaptation, is set to be released in Japan on December 7 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Described as an “adventure + sugoroku” title, the Entegram-developed title sees Encouragement of Climb protagonist Aoi deciding to hike up the mountains she had previously conquered, with Hinata, Kokona, Honoka, and Koharu coming along with her. Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit ~Ano Yama ni, Mou Ichido~ will feature fully-voiced story sections that let the player determine what mountain to tackle next, while the main gameplay is broken into preparation and hiking segments.

including stamina and knowledge, and purchase and equip items and equipment. Players can also access information regarding the mountain they will be climbing to inform their equipment decisions and receive an overview of Aoi’s skills, equipment, funds, and stats.
For the hiking part of the game, Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit ~Ano Yama ni, Mou Ichido~ features board game inspirations with a roulette determining how many tiles Aoi can traverse. Certain tiles and skills will affect Aoi’s movement, and various events will crop up depending on the tile that Aoi lands on.
Players will also have to watch out for Aoi’s stamina and hydration, which can be replenished at rest tiles and with items, and make decisions when faced with bifurcations in the hiking trail.
The normal physical and digital editions of Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit ~Ano Yama ni, Mou Ichido~ will be sold for 8,778 yen (~US$60.66), while the limited edition, which comes with an acrylic diorama, B2 tapestry, and soundtrack CD, will cost 14,278 yen (~US$98.66).
