on dit que pour comprendre les anomalies de l’Annonciation de Léonard de Vinci l’observateur doit
faire sept pas vers la droite

sous ses écailles sombres que cache l’inclination d’un doigt ou l’ouverture d’une main

un échange de regards trace une droite rectiligne ou
l’ensemble inépuisable de notre nuit

il suffit parfois d’une perspective aérienne, d’une terre volcanique, d’un seul homme, un jour de soleil, pour
recouvrer l’intuition intacte de la pureté

de la probabilité de se rencontrer deux fois ou d’une
victoire imaginaire contre l’infini

d’une limite, de n’importe quelle limite comme on écrit en pensant au fil ténu où on voit sa propre mort sans la franchir

il suffit parfois d’un poème, d’un seul poème, pour tenir, tout un hiver

cette lettre n’a pas d’adresse, elle vous revient

sometimes all it takes is an aerial view, a volcanic landscape, a single man, a sunny day, to recover the intact intuition of purity

the probability of meeting twice or of an imaginary victory against infinity

of a limit, no matter what limit as one writes while thinking about the fine line where one sees one’s own death without crossing over

sometimes all it takes is a poem, a single poem, to keep, an entire winter
