Photojournalisme : Appel à candidatures / Call for entries – 8ème édition du Visa d’Or humanitaire du CICR

Créé en 2011 et doté de 8000 euros, le “Visa d’Or humanitaire du CICR” récompense chaque année une ou un photojournaliste professionnel ayant couvert une problématique humanitaire en lien avec un conflit armé. Cette année, le thème de ce concours photographique porte sur la guerre en ville et les conséquences sur les populations obligées de se terrer ou de fuir.

Les candidats pour l’édition 2018 du “Visa d’Or Humanitaire” peuvent adresser leurs sujets jusqu’au 11 juin inclus.

Le gagnant sera récompensé en septembre dans le cadre du prestigieux Festival international de photojournalisme de Perpignan, Visa pour l’Image.

“A travers le Visa d’or humanitaire, notre volonté est bien sûr de valoriser le travail que réalise chaque jour les photojournalistes sur le terrain, mais aussi et avant tout, d’alerter le plus grand nombre de personnes sur le non-respect du droit international humanitaire, notamment lorsque les belligérants déplacent les zones de combat vers les villes et prennent à partie des millions de civils.”

Peut concourir au Visa d’Or humanitaire tout photojournaliste professionnel, indépendant ou travaillant pour un média. Le reportage proposé devra avoir été réalisé dans les deux ans précédant la participation au concours.

Created in 2011 and endowed with 8,000 euros, the « ICRC Humanitarian Visa d’or Award » is awarded each year to a professional photojournalist who has covered a humanitarian issue related to an armed conflict. The theme of this year’s photo contest is urban war and the consequences for people forced to hide or flee.

Candidates for the 2018 edition of the « Visa d’Or Humanitaire » can send their work until June 11, 2018.

The winner will receive the award in September during the annual « Visa pour l’image » festival of photojournalism, which takes place in Perpignan, France.

« The aim of the « ICRC Humanitarian Visa d’or Award » is of course to honor the work that photojournalists do every day on the field, but above all, to inform the most people possible about violations of international humanitarian law. In this case, violations linked to cities becoming the battle-field and the toll on millions of civilians living there.

Any professional, independent or media photojournalist may compete for the Humanitarian Visa d’or Award. The story must have been produced within the two years preceeding the competition.
