I know we still have three weeks of autumn left but you can definitely feel the air getting more crispy day after day.
Frost already makes an appearing in the early hours of the day and almost all the leaves have fallen from the trees.
I don't know if I already told you my love for cinnamon rolls.
I think I did in this post but there is one thing that I love even more that cinnamon rolls and it is sticky rolls...
I mean... Gooey sticky caramel glaze and crunchy toasted pecans on top of a soft bun filled with butter, spices and even more crunchy pecans. What is it not to love ?
I love to make them the night before and leave them for the second rise either in the fridge in the summer or at room temperature in the kitchen when its not too hot.
Then I can just pop them in the oven in the morning and enjoy them warm right out of the oven.
I like to watch them rise while enjoying a good cup of hot tea.
Which I find even more comforting in the cold season.
I can feel my mouth watering just thinking about these sticky buns.
I decided to give them a pumpkin twist by adding pumpkin butter to the dough, pumpkin puree to the filling and pumpkin syrup to the topping.
If you are suffering from fall pumpkin pie spice everythingaddiction like I do,you might already have all this ingredients in your kitchen by now.
I used golden syrup as well for the topping but you could totally replace it with a mild flavor honey if you dont have some on hand.
And you?Do you love sticky buns as much as I do?
And do you have a favorite time of the day to enjoy them?
