La traditionnelle cérémonie de remise des Eisner Awards qui s'est tenue cette année le vendredi 2 juillet au Hilton San Diego Bayfront a ajouté deux éminents auteurs de bande dessinée européenne à la liste du Hall of Fame. Présentée par John Barrowman, à la fois acteur (il interprète le rôle de Malcolm Merlyn, ennemi d'Oliver Queen dans la série Arrow) et scénariste de comics, qui a donc livré les noms des différentes distinctions attribuées cette année.
Parmi celles-ci, le Hall of Fame, qui récompense une carrière déjà bien fournie, et parfois même déjà achevée, a élargi la liste de ses récipiendaires à Carl Burgos et Tove Jansson (par un vote du jury), tandis que les professionels votants ont intronisé Lynda Barry, Rube Goldberg, Matt Groening et Jacques Tardi. Rappelons que le Hall of Fame avait déjà distingué des auteurs comme Jean Giraud/Moebius (1998), Hergé (2003), René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo et Hugo Pratt (2005). On ignore encore si le créateur d'Adèle Blanc-Sec, plutôt réfractaire aux remises de médailles (il avait refusé la Légion d'Honneur en 2013) acceptera...
