Il m’est étranger, ennemi.
Pire encore est l’âme,
et non plus avec elle je ne m’identifie.
J’observe de loin
les grossières acrobaties de ce couple,
avec détachement, ironie –
avec dégoût parfois.
Et cependant je pense que leur absence
serait bienfait plus que douleur :
cela et d’autres choses… Mais tandis qu’ainsi je pense,
qui suis-je, moi, et où ?

Io non sono il mio corpo.
Mi è straniero, nemico.
Ancora peggio è l’anima,
e neppure con essa m’identifico.
Osservo di lontano
le rozze acrobazie di questa coppia,
con distacco, ironia –
con disgusto talvolta.
E intanto penso che la loro assenza
Sarebbe più un guadagno che un dolore:
questa e altre cose… Ma mentre le penso,
io chi sono, e dove?
