Dans la plus stricte intimité de la mairie de Sèvres, l'actrice italienne Sophia Loren épouse son pygmalion, Carlo Ponti. Le couple déjà marié une première fois en septembre 1957 au Mexique, a du contourner les lois pour s'unir légalement. Carlo Ponti s'est vu accusé de bigamie par les autorités italiennes car le divorce d'avec sa première épouse n'avait pas été prononcé. Les deux stars italiennes ont donc du attendre l'annulation de leur premier mariage et l'obtention de la nationalité française pour s'unir en toute légalité.

The Italian actress Sophia Loren and her pygmalion Carlo Ponti tie the knot during an intimate ceremony in Sèvres (France). The couple was already married in Mexico in 1957, but it was illegal. Carlo Ponti was accused of bigamy by the Italian authorities since the divorce from his first wife was not pronounced. The two italians stars hava to wait for the cancellation of this first marriage and to obtain French citizenship to marry legally.
