Aux Prés : Cyril Lignac's bistro-style gastronomyI first discovered this restaurant in a very unsettling context as I dined there with a friend on the evening of 13 November. We were a million miles from imagining what was happening because we were ensconced in a cinema...it is what it is...and then at 27 rue du Dragon, we were briefly able to enjoy Cyril Lignac's fare. To give you an idea of the atmosphere in the restaurant, I quote from the description on the restaurant's website:
"A cult address in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Ever since it opened in the 1950s, it has hosted society figures and celebrities including actors, singers, politicians and even some of the international elite. Everyone who is anyone in Paris has graced the leather-upholstered seats of this restaurant, originally called the "Claude Saint Louis". When the opportunity arose in 2011 to stage a "come-back" of what was once the king of bistros on Paris's Left Bank, Cyril Lignac didn't need to be asked twice. Keenly aware of the history and spirit of the venue, Chef Lignac has restored the prestige and standing of this institution in St. Germain-des-Prés while retaining the friendly, authentic atmosphere.
Now re-named "Aux Près", this cult bistro serves typical bistro-style cuisine with flavours from around the world. Uplifting cuisine, inspired by chef Cyril Lignac's travels and encounters with pride of place given to the best of regional produce from France and abroad."
