I had a Windows Server 2012 where FileZilla Server was installed with it's interface.
The interface was popping up every time I logged on the server, and this was quite anoying.
After searching the web, I found that we just needed to remove a registry key to disable this.
Unfortunalty, the registry key was not at the same place on my install. It seems to be caused because the Filezilla Server was 32bits and the operating system was 64bits.
So, if you want to prevent the FileZilla Server's interface to popup every time you log on the server, follow these steps.
The FileZilla Server will always run on system startup, and the interface will be accessible in your programs' list, it will just not be opened every time you login.
Warning! This is a system wide setting, so the interface will not popup again on every session on this server.
- Open regedit
- Check for a
FileZilla Server Interface
entry in the following locations :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
- If you find the key in any of these two locations, remove it.
You're done !
