La Galerie Perrotin expose en ce moment à New York une sculpture en bois de Thomas Bangalter et Guy-Man du groupe Daft Punk. Ils ont posé sans leurs casques pour une sculpture réalisée par le plasticien français Xavier Veilhan. Une oeuvre de de 1,61 mètre de haut en bois de bouleau exposée dans le cadre de l’exposition Music proposée jusqu’au 11 avril 2015.
Concernant le choix des Daft Punk d’apparaître sans casques, Xavier Veilhan raconte : “The funny thing is I didn’t even ask them, » Veilhan told the Creators Project, “They proposed to me ‘Okay, we should make the sculpture the non-existing image of us. So if somebody wants to see how we are like in real life they’ll have to look at the sculpture. »
