Je devais aller au MoMa ce jour là mais j’ai un peu changé mon planning, car j’avais rendez-vous avec 2 amies new-yorkaises à midi. J’ai un peu flâné et puis j’ai été voir l’exposition Body World au Discovery Time Square.
I was supposed to go to the MoMa that day but changed my plans a bit to meet up with two long time friends. I wandered around a but then went to Discovery Time Square to check the Body World exhibition.
L’exposition présente des corps humains qui ont subi le processus de plastination du Dr Gunther Von Hagens. C’est impressionant et dérangeant à la fois. On réalise la complexité et fragilité du corps humain. Il est interdit de faire des photos, sauf dans la dernière salle où deux hommes sont à cheval.
The exhibition displays human bodies that have been plastinated. A processus invented by Dr Gunther Von Hagens. It’s amazing and disturbing at the same time. You realize how complex and fragile the human body is. You can’t take pictures, except in the last room where two men are on a horse.
Par après je me suis dirigée dans le quartier où j’avais rendez-vous avec mes amies et je suis tombée sur un TJ Maxx. Assez grand et un rayon plus size assez grand mais encore une fois pas grand chose à mon goût. J’y ai quand même dénichée un jupe longue Michael Kors pour la modique somme de $20 au lieu de $99, et quelques petites bricoles.
After that I went to the neighboorhood where I was meeting my friends and found a TJ Maxx. Quite big and a nice plus size area but again not a lot that I liked. I did buy a maxi skirt from Michael Kros though for a mere $20 instead of $99, and a few random things.

J’ai passé un bon moment avec mes amies chez Vynl. Trop court mais on se reverra un jour! Et puis direction le Kit Kat Club at Studio 54 pour Cabaret!
I had a great time with my friends at Vynl and then headed to the Kit Kat Club at Studio 54 for Cabaret!
Quelle sensation géniale d’être dans ce lieu mythique qu’est le Studio 54. Quand on pense à tout les artistes qui y sont passés: Andy Warhol, Grace Jones, etc J’avais eu la chance de dénicher une place à une des tables juste à côté de la scène. A peine assise, je commande un Don’t Tell Mama cocktail et je suis prête pour le spectacle! Alan Cumming y reprenait son rôle d’Emcee et il était vraiment fantastique. Michelle Williams fait également partie de la troupe mais je suis plus mitigée sur son interprétation de Sally. Elle a une très belle voix mais son accent laissait un peu à désirer.
It felt pretty incredible to be in this mythical place that is Studio 54. It’s crazy to think of all the celebs that were there: Andy Warhol, Grace Jones, etc I got lucky and got a seat at a table next to the stage. I grabbed my seat, ordered a Don’t Tell Mama cocktail and was ready to enjoy the show! Alan Cumming was reprising his role as the Emcee and of course he was fantastic. Michelle Williams is also part of the cast but I have mixed feelings about her interpretation of Sally. She really has a nice voice but her accent felt really wrong.
Entre les deux j’avoue je ne sais plus trop ce que j’ai fait! Probablement dépensé mes $ dans un des nombreux Duane Reade (sorte de Boots US) où une blogueuse beauté deviendrait folle à la vue des rayons de cosmétiques!
Between the two shows I am not quite sure what I did! Probably spend my $ at one of the various Duane Reade (kinda like a American Boots) where a beauty blogger would go crazy at the sight of all the makeup aisles!
Et j’ai fini la soirée et m’étouffant presque de rire avec A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Si vous allez à NY et avez un bon niveau d’anglais, je conseille vivement d’aller voir cette comédie musicale. J’ai presque envie de dire qu’elle est dans le style dérisoire des Monty Phyton. Hilarante!
I ended up almost laughing myself to death with A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Seriously go see it now! I feel it’s very much in the crazy style of Monty Phyton. Absolutely hilarious!
