Because we love them
Just as every other year, this summer I struggle with the same old « problem » – arranging first row places in the boldest festivals of the season. The more to choose from, the pickier I get. And trust me when I say that this is the way it should be.
To recap on good old memories, I chose to give you a sneak peak of two festivals that I am really fond of: Calvi on the Rocks in Corsica (that I recently grew to obsess about) and Sziget Festival in Budapest (that I literally grew up with). These two party-lover’s gatherings are some serious business for those that appreciate a good selection of music combined with art and lined with fashion all over. The perfectos for summer.
Sit back and enjoy
Calvi on the Rocks (05 to 09 July)
Neat please. In an astonishing location, kickass line-up (Caribou, Onra Breakbot, Synapson, Jabberwocky, Para One.. and tons more!), sunshine and a sensational stylish feast for the eyes
You have three main beaches as the locations in the area: In Casa, Le Bout du Monde and La Villa Schweppes – each and all worthwhile.Sziget Festival (11 to 18 August)
Sziget – island in Hungarian – is your perfect escape to the land of fun that will keep you busy day & night. It has room for all sorts of performances (approx 1000) making it the biggest Festival in Europe. Be that electro, rock, pop, rap, folk… I mean seriously just name it. A 26500 squared meter island « of freedom » embracing all the styles you can imagine and an enormous amount of nationalities. Some of the names for this year are: The Kooks, London Grammar, Imagine Dragons, Lilly Allen, Skrillex, Blink 182, Placebo, Stromae, Laidback Luke, Kavinsky, … CRAZY.
More than just a music festival, Sziget offers tons of activities. I have been visiting this island for over 6 years and trust me, still not bored. Every year they have something new coming up. Sojeans approved!Get ready for Sziget 2014 and prepare for Calvi on the Rocks 2015. See you there!
