Spyros Kizis, jeune designer grecque nous présente sa création baptisée Artichair, littéralement une chaise et un fauteuil réalisés à partir de fibres naturelles.
Dans le cadre de sa formation du côté d’Edinburgh, il développe une nouvelle matière, fibre naturelle combinant déchets agricoles, résine époxy biologique et dérivés de chardons.
« His work is focused on the alternative use of artichoke thistles in product design. His aim is to produce a design through materials exploration, that is about questioning not only the materials and processes used to produce products and furniture, but also the systems behind these materials and processes, from the extraction of the material, and the product fabrication, to its distribution and disposal.«
Le but étant de s’éloigner peu à peu du plastique tout en préservant des propriétés très intéressantes.
A noter : « The material is created from renewable, sustainable plants, is 100% biodegradable and can also be used as a biofuel. » de là à transformer votre chaise en carburant !
