One week, three thing / La rubrique de la semaine à New York

Nouvel article de la rubrique "One week, three things" à New York avec, cette semaine, la marque de bijoux The Glitter Vault, un autre évènement Birchbox avec la marque Folli Follie, ainsi que la découverte de Tartinery au Plaza Hotel.

Ce weekend s’est révelé être incroyablement froid à New York. Ce vent glacial est de retour et j’avais oublié à quel point mes doigts pouvait se paralyser en un instant. La courte tempête de neige de samedi soir n’a pas aidé, non plus. Enfin, le soleil était de la partie, et ca me semblait parfait pour emmener mon nouveau manteau à Central Park (oui, j’ai craqué!). A l’heure du déjeuner et à la limite du parc, le Plaza Hotel se dressait comme une évidence pour se réchauffer. J’adore le food court au sous-sol avec divers petits restaurants. Cette fois, Tartinery était ideal avec ses soupes et tartines à la française. Cette tartine dinde et bacon était un regal. Si vous êtes dans le coin, n’hésitez pas à vous y attabler.
This weekend was the first really cold, freezing days of the fall. But it was so beautiful outside that I had to take my beautiful new pink coat for a walk in Central Park (Yep, I bought it and you will see the results very soon on the blog). After crossing the park, a stop at the Plaza Hotelseemed ideal for lunch. I love the food court downstairs with all this different little restaurants. Soups and a tartine to share sounded wonderful. Tartinery is a Parisian style restaurant, waiters are mostly all French and the food was exquisite. That Turkey Bacon tartine was just delicious. If you find yourself in the area, go check it out.

Jeudi soir, encore un évènement Birchbox et toujours avec Emilie, nous nous sommes rendues à la boutique Folli Follie de SoHo. De très jolis bijoux et accessoires, mais je dois dire que mon extase s’est trouvé à l’atelier coiffure. Honnêtement, c’est pas un peu de la banane cette coiffure? J’adore. J’ai bien invité la styliste à venir chaque matin dans ma salle de bain, je crois que je vais devoir me débrouiller toute seule. J’ai testé et j’y arrive. Houra! Le chignon, grâce au Wrap Up, est beaucoup plus facile à faire que les buns (ou donuts de cheveux) et le résultat est impeccable. Sans compter qu’une seule pince suffit pour fixer le tout. Bon la soirée avait ses bulles et ses cupcakes, je vous le mentionne, mais ça devient un peu la routine, non?
Thursday night, I went to another event with Birchbox, and with Emilie, at the Folli Follie boutique in SoHo. As much as I found a lot of great sparkling things I could buy and wear instantly, my interest flew somewhere else. There were some hairstylists doing some pretty braids and top knots, and I took a place in one of their chairs. The result? I was blown away (get the joke?) by my hairstyle. How can I wear my hair differently, now? I politely asked the stylist to join me in my bathroom every morning, but the truth is, I will need to reproduce this myself from now on. And guess what? I can do it! The Wrap Up tool from Sarah Topempa is amazing and so much easier to use than one of those buns. And it only needs one bobby pin. Magic is in my hair, ladies. Well, of course we sipped on some sparkling wine and ate some yummy cupcakes but I don’t even know if I should keep mentioning it as it’s a little bit of a routine and a must have to any NYC events.



Lundi soir, j’ai pu assister au lancement de la nouvelle marque de bijoux The Glitter Vault. J’étais invitée par la créatrice Daisy Toro et Marisa Meade, la blogueuse de Style Cusp, au 48 Lounge pour découvrir la collection. Si vous aimez la tendance des jolis colliers colorés, des paillettes et des bijoux à message, cette marque est pour vous. Les prix sont également très abordables. Une jolie rencontre, avec Emilie, autour de quelques bulles à siroter, de plateaux de fromages et de cake-pops à la vanille. The Glitter Vault is a new jewelry brand and I was surprisingly amazed by its collection. I was invited to join the founder, Daisy Toro, and blogger, Marisa Meade from Style Cusp, to discover all the pretty gems at 48 Lounge in Midtown on Monday night. If you like what’s going on right now with big statement necklaces, sparkles and message jewelry, The Glitter Vault will be your go to online jewelry shop. Did I mention that prices are very affordable? A great discovery, and Emilie and I have been treated very well with some bubbles, cheese platters, and cake pops. We modeled quite a lot to the photographer there, and I would love to see the results.
