Comic Strip: BOOM New York!

Pour mon premier look de l’automne, j’ai misé sur un style décontracté, parfait à porter le week-end et trainer dans mon quartier de l’Upper West Side à Manhattan. Quand Phillip Lim a annoncé sa collection pour Target, je savais que ce serait spécial. Quand j’ai reçu le lookbook, l’impatience a pris le pas sur mon enthousiasme ; et j’ai instantanément repéré quelques pièces de la collection à shopper. Mais être une fashionista à New York n’est pas de tout repos, et il faut savoir se lever tôt (ou ne pas se coucher) pour être certaine de s’approprier les choses les plus en vue. De mon côté, ça voulait dire mettre tous mes espoirs dans la technologie jusqu’à 5h du matin le jour du lancement de la collection. Et BOOM, victoire!

Le sweat BOOM est tellement fun à porter et transforme n’importe quel ensemble en look cool. (Même Jessica Alba le porte ici.) Et puisqu’on est en 2013, mixer un sweat avec une jupe crayon est même toléré. En mode week-end, j’ai préféré me la jouer relax en l’associant à un jean de chez American Eagle Outfitters et en ajoutant une touche de glam grâce à mes escarpins Prabal Gurung (d’une autre collection spéciale de Target). J’adore ces chaussures. Elles me donnent l’impression de marcher sur un arc-en-ciel à chaque fois que je les regarde. Elles me rappellent aussi le style d’une certaine Carrie Bradshaw. Mais mon adoration pour ce look ne serait pas ultime sans ce magnifique petit sac-à-main jaune. Quand Phillip Lim a dessiné ce mini satchel, je pourrai jurer qu’il a pensé à moi (ben quoi, on peut rêver, non?!). Ce sac a été dans mon mood board et ma wishlist depuis des mois.
On peut dire que cet ensemble est un look presque complet de chez Target, ce qui veut dire une parfaite combinaison de style au meilleur prix. Je peux donc crier victoire sur la joie que cette virée shopping m’a donnée. Vous aimez ce look? Avec quoi d’autres porteriez-vous le BOOM ?

For my first fall outfit of the year, I wanted to show you a casual look, perfect for a weekend slowing down the pace and hanging out on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. When Phillip Lim announced its collection for Target, I knew it was going to be big. When Target released his lookbook, I immediately fell in love with some pieces. But, being a fashionista in New York also means being prepared to fight to put your hand on some of the most wanted pieces. For me, it meant embracing technology until 5am on the launch of the collection to score what I wanted. And BOOM, I scored!
The BOOM sweater is such a fun piece to wear and makes any outfit look cool. (Even Jessica Alba wears it here.) This is 2013, friends, and even mixing a sport sweater with a pencil skirt can work. I chose to remain weekend casual by associating it with jeans from American Eagle Outfitters and add a touch of glam with my Prabal Gurung pumps (also a special collection for Target). I love these shoes. Every time I look down at them, they make me feel like I am walking on a rainbow. They also remind me of a certain young Carrie Bradshaw. But my love for this outfit would not be complete without the amazing yellow handbag. When Phillip Lim designed this mini satchel, I could swear he thought of me (hey, it’s ok to dream!). This bag was on my mood board and wish list for months now.
So yes, this outfit is almost a total Target look, meaning I could combine great style with affordable prices. For sure, I can scream victory as the happiness it brings me. Do you like this look? With what other piece would you wear the BOOM?
