I was tidying a bit when I realised that I do have loads of hair products.... the irony is that I don't even use them on a regular basis!
I take much care of my skin - face and body, but I have a tendency to forget about my hair. Maybe because I can't do much with it anyway since they're simply long and straight.
I know it's important to apply products on my ends which tend to split.
The thing is, I do apply hair products on a regular basis only for a short while, then I then to forget again. My bad!!!
However, I always take one for split ends with me when I'm traveling! aha! :)
Yes 'cos I think my hair can suffer from the jetlag (indirectly!! resulting from my internal system) and change in temperature! lol
As you can see, hair products also come in different textures - oil, liquid, liquid spray, dry spray and cream... and have different actions just like skincare.
Let's start with the liquid spray ones:
Nick Chavez Plump 'N Thick
ghd - Heat Protect Spray
Aussie Miracle Insurance Leave-in Conditioner
I had received the Nick Chavez Plump N' Thick - a leave-in thickening hair mist in my first Birch Box. A lovely discover which you can read here. The reason why I don't really use it is that my hair is quite thick already and my main concern for my hair is about split ends.
Next is my latest purchase, the ghd Heat Protect Spray .... I know! I shouldn't have but I got tempted to get it as well when I bought my Corioliss Curler! :) Well that is a hair product that I didn't have.... a heat protect one! :)
I don't usually blow dry my hair and very rarely smooth them straight. So I didn't really need it until I had bought my new curler. :)
How I like it?
I love its fragrance!!!
It's a lightweight spray to be used on towel dried hair before blow drying or to be sprayed light on dry hair for heat styling. It does leave my hair soft.
Since I also colour my hair, it's best to use a product to protect it from drying too much and getting damaged from heat styling.
Then I have the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner. I had used it very often when I first bought it. What I love the most is the fragrance. However, I still prefer to have Conditioner after I have shampooed my hair as I find it more effective, especially for the length of my hair.
Brushing long hair with lots of knots is just a pure hassle!
However, I would use it in between shampoos only on my ends to keep my hair supple and moisturised.
This is the dry shampoo from Lee Stafford. I wanted to try a dry shampoo after the big wave for this kind of product last year. I must admit, it's not my thing at all! I prefer to wash my hair more often than to have a dry shampoo.
Also, it sprays a white powder onto my hair and honestly, even after brushing it off with my brush several times, I look like I have dandruff! It's not against the brand as I LOVE all the other products that I have tested from Lee Stafford... it's just this type of products that I don't like - dry shampoos!
After the dry sprays, you have the oil textures.
I love Carita hair products... maybe I have a soft spot for this brand as I have worked closely with the team when I used to be International Trainer for Decleor.
Anyway, this oil Caritrix is fantastic! I don't use it often as it is a toning care for dry scalp. I should use this on my hubby's scalp which is always so dry and quite itchy.
It is rich in natural floral essences and smells citrusy.
How to use it? Apply a few drops section by section, then massage the scalp and leave for 15 minutes. Then remove with shampoo. To be used once or twice a week on dry scalp.
The second product with oil texture is more an multi-usage product that can be used on the fair, body and hair. Everyone knows Huile Prodigieuse by Nuxe as it's their best seller and so renowned in so many countries. I have used the gold sparkling one for my wedding on my decolleté, back and shoulders and it was wonderful. The great thing is that it is NOT greasy as it is a dry oil. Needless to say how addictive the fragrance is... I think I'll never get tired of this typical fragrance from the "Prodigieuse" line. I love smelling it on my skin and on my hair (I only apply on the tips). And to have a long-lasting fragrance, I spray the perfume "Parfum Prodigieux" on top! :)
Aveda - Smooth Indusion
TommyGuns - Crème Bluffante au Gingembre sans rinçage
Redken - Protective Straightening Lotion
The Crème Bluffante au Gingembre Sans Rinçage from TommyGuns (Leave -in amazing cream with Ginger for the translation) is one I love!!! It is enriched in green tea as well. I love the texture, I love the fragrance (very much!!) and I love its effectiveness in giving my hair a boost, revealing my color. It is recommended on damp hair, by insisting on the ends.
On dry hair, it revitalises my hair and brings back suppleness and radiance. I love it! :) Unfortunately, I can't find it here as I had purchased it in Paris. For your info, the shampoos and conditioners are amazing as well and I'm an addict of this brand! You can buy it at Monoprix in France.
Last but not least, the Redken Protective Straightening Lotion. I think I must have got it from one of my JolieBox UK but hadn't done any posts on it. It's not a product that has amazed me as I have tried it only once and it was ok... nothing exceptional. It may not be the right product for me as I don't use any straightening products for my already very straight hair. I'll probably give it to one of my blogger friends to write about it! :)
The texture is a light gel-cream one but I'm honestly not a big fan of the fragrance. Voilà!
So how about you?
Do you have hair products which are left in the dark too? Or which ones are your fav?
