Rosebud

J’ai enfin réussi à terminer ce projet que j’avais tant à coeur: le Rosebud hat de Brooklyn Tweed. Je l’avais commencé pour la première fois il y a quelques mois, et je m’y suis reprise à plusieurs fois avant de le terminer: le choix de la laine ne me plaisait pas tant que ça, donc j’ai changé plusieurs fois et je me suis rendue compte que faire un bonnet sur des petites aiguilles doubles pointes, ce n’était vraiment pas optimal.

C’est donc après avoir investi dans un kit d’aiguilles circulaires interchangeables Knit Pro que j’ai recommencé mon bonnet. J’ai vraiment senti la différence… La laine glissait sur mes aiguilles comme jamais.

Le rosebud sera finalement le troisième bonnet tombé de mes aiguilles cette année. Il est complètement différent des mes deux projets différents et je le porterai sans aucun doute cet hiver: la laine Abuelita est douce et très épaisse, ce qui me permettra de garder mes oreilles bien au chaud!

Je voulais également vous annoncer qu’avec ma tendre tricopine Charlotte, nous organisons un petit challenge tricoteuse/tricopathe qui cours sur douze mois: Knit twelve hats in one year. L’idée c’est de créer un bonnet par mois pour qu’à la fin de l’année on puisse se remémorer les différents mois passés et accessoirement avoir chaud sur la tête. si vous voulez participer, il n’y a rien de plus simple: il suffit d’aimer la page facebook du challenge, y partager vos créations, et si vous le souhaitez insérer le petit macaron du challenge sur votre blog.

This project has been  frogged for quite a while before I decided to start it again. At first, I wasn’t completely sure about the choice of my yarn, and my very small set of double pointed needles was not the best choice either to start such a big slounchy hat. The stitches used to fall down all the time, and  I used to spend more time trying to put them back than knitting the hat itself.

At that time, I made a decision that would have a big impact on my knitting world: I spend something like 50 euros on a kit of interchangeable circular knitting needles: my Rosebud hat is finished!

This project is completely different from the two other hats that I’ve made previously. I love the pattern so much:the big cable works so well with the simple stockinette stitch, and the choice of my yarn will bring softness and warmth on cold winter days.

I would like to share with you a little challenge that my dear friend Charlotte and I, have created lately. We’re completely addicted to knitting hats, so this is how we’ve decided to start this challenge: Knit twelve hats in one year. The idea, is to knit one hat every month of this year.
