Say hello to the new Deep playlist of your favourite blog! Always trying to dig something fresh for you, I’ve sought for new artists and new sounds to please your ears. ‘hope you’ll like it.
Let’s start with a Free Download from Herr Vogel, a young, unsigned artist from Basel in Switzerland. He proposes us a Deep version of last year’s massive hit “Too Close” by Alex Clare – yeah, the music used for Mercedes commercials. He’s completely removing the Dubstep side of the track to keep only the melodic parts and adds some pretty basslines and thin slices of guitars sounds. A beautiful reinterpretation available as a free download on Soundcloud.
Tough Love? Again? Well… you know what we say: when the music is good, we just share it. Based on the world-famous song “Tom’s Diner” by Suzanne Vega (1987), the two guys from Tough Love add their own twist to the track and create a real House banger even your mama’s going to love. It’s now out on Prison Entertainment and it’s currently climbing beatport’s charts. FAT!
I’m a little bit late on this one, but I had to post something about this great album from Wolf+Lamb, shared to the world a few weeks ago. This well-named LP “Versus” sees the duo inviting some of their friends for top quality tunes including PillowTalk, Soul Clap and lot more. The funny part in this thing, is that our favourite track on the album is actually produced only by Wolf+Lamb… and what a track! After a 1 minute intro, it reveals a beautiful synth melody to be enjoyed til’ the end of the night. You can buy the album now on iTunes or Beatport.
Now let’s get into that raw Deep-House thing with Local Talk, one of my favourite label this year. Always trying to keep that sort of “real House” attitude, the label is back with some fresh vibes with this new EP produced by John Mood (Netherlands). Enough words, just enjoy the sound and go.buy.this.vinyl!
In one year, Urulu sure made his impression on the House scene with his style that brings back the oldschool feelings of House-Music. After several tracks on petFood and 2 EPs on Exploited Records, he’s signing his first track on Culprit by remixing Lula Circus “Theory Of Folds” and turning the original track into a good summer-rooftop-party anthem. Don’t forget to check the whole EP of Lula Circus as it features some nice Deep sounds you might enjoy.
Huge enormous track from NYC-based label Nurvous Records, the little brother of Nervous focused on the new House scene. Released at the end of October, it took me a couple of weeks to actually notice that track and get blasted off by its powerful bassline and strong pads. Teenage Mutants are setting the club on fire with this Nu-Disco anthem. Be sure to grab the EP on Beatport.
I’m now leaving you with two amazing Slowjams / House edits by C-EDITS and Lee Stevens & LeeSale. The first one, which is probably some sort of vinyl-only-secret-side-project from a well-known producer, is quite surprising as it uses a sample from Mariah Carey with a nice Disco twist. The second one, from Luv Shack Records, brings back some nice funky vibes from the 80′s. You can grab C-EDITS (vinyl only) on Juno Records while all Luv Shack releases are available on Beatport.
