Donner un corps et une image aux esprits présents et non visibles qui habitent les cités antiques. Dans la série « Icônes terrestres, Portraits Célestes II », Pascal Monteil est habité par les esthétiques des moines ascétiques et fébriles de Zurbaran, des vénus érotiques de Lucas Cranach, des figures démentes et mystiques d’Antonin Artaud... Leurs présences habiteront Marseille où aurait pu se dérouler leur étrange existence.

Marseille is a port: the symbol of departure to ramble around the world. With the black line of ink to spongy grey, section off the spaces. The result is designed structures, a sort of storyboard that retraces sharp sensations, snapshots with intuitive outlines. In long rolls or vertical forms, the panels of paper converge to bring together or separate the images. Thomas Henriot chooses the Cours d'Etienne Orves as a field of investigation and offers a focus on the Milon de Croton by Puget.
