Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba scored for Shanghai Shenhua on Saturday as he continued playing for the Chinese club despite a board dispute that threatens his lofty salary.
Chinese state media say Shenhua has not been paying its foreign players in full because of the dispute, which has led to speculation that Drogba could leave the club.
But Drogba started in Shanghai’s 3-0 win over Liaoning Hongyun on Saturday, scoring one of the goals.

Making no mistake: Drogba is on target
The board dispute centers around wealthy owner Zhu Jun, who has poured money into the club to attract star players such as Drogba, but is upset that his 28.5-percent stake has not been increased.
Zhu has said he might withdraw some of his funding and only play for 28.5 percent of Shenhua’s expenses, including salaries.

Drogba joined the Shanghai club in July after helping Chelsea win last season’s Champions League final, His contract is reportedly worth up to £9.25 million.
Shenhua are 10th in the 16-team Chinese Super League.
