“DANA CANNAM DESIGN is a multidisciplinary studio focusing on the concept of simplicity in design; specifically, how simplicity translates to technical innovations in not only products but the digital realm as well. Our methodology consists of a pragmatic hands-on-approach to understanding traditional craftsmanship and how this perspective can be applied to new innovations in design.
DANA CANNAM (b.1980, Canada) received his Bachelors in Industrial Design at the University of Alberta (2007) and his Masters in Social Design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven (2010). Soon after graduation Dana established “Dana Cannam Design” based in Eindhoven specializing in product and interaction design.
Currently Dana Cannam Design is researching emotional and symbolic content and the fostering of innovation to perpetuate new product development processes. As well as an intensified focus on the international marketplace, most importantly, fostering social and environmental initiatives. Our goal is to create a hybrid language that can be easily communicated to the user through traditional craftsmanship, natural materials and innovative technology.“
