J'ai trouvé fascinant les changements de couleur de l'eau.
Most of the time during the cruise we arrived in the early morning and left at the end of the day. So we ended up seeing only a little of the landscape. However we left Skagway earlier in the afternoon and we able to enjoy among other things the Chilkoot Inlet. What a show, it was glacier after glacier, waterfall after waterfall.
I found it fascinating to see the color of the water change.
Nous avons aussi enfin eu droit a un petit rayon de soleil, parfait pour admirer les glaciers.
We also finally got a little sunshine, perfect to admire the glaciers.
And then surprise, this huge and incredible rainbow appeared to our sight. It was impossible to capture it entirely on the picture as it was big and close to us.
The next day was a day at sea, but did include a stop by Hubbard Glacier. The ship was to do a few circles in the glacier's bay before heading back out.
We quickly found ourselves in the middle of icebergs. The layers of colors were fascinating.
The majority of the people were on the bridge. It was a little hard to get a good point of view as a result, so we decided to grab food to make a good breakfast on the upper deck's cage before heading back to our cabin. We treated ourselves like kings with a breakfast on our balcony, overlooking the glacier, hard to beat.
Weirdly enough the closer we got to the glacier the less icebergs we saw. From time to time we could hear sounds coming from the ice and several times we even got to see chunks breaking off and falling in the sea.
Once the ship headed back its way, we went to the aft. There was only a few people there and we were able to take souvenir pictures.
Around the glacier, the water had a surreal turquoise color. I don't think I ever got bored of the landscape in Alaska...
