Vous preferez quoi comme festival? Les petits discrets de quartier ou les grosses valeurs sures?
The list of festivals in Asheville is long, going from big ones like Bele Chere attracting tourists, medium ones such as LAAFF that started small but is now a lot bigger since it's been moved to Labor Day week-end. Then there are the little ones, still charming and meant for the locals, RiverFest is one of those. The goal of it is to raise funds for the river.
My only regret is that I didn't pay enough attention to the program, because while the festival started in the afternoon, that morning there was an "everything that floats" competition. Participants came with floating devices of all sorts and we missed it. But in any case the festival was fun, beer for Hubby and locally made peach ice-cream for me, music, games, and we came across some friends and all sat by the river watching stand-up paddlers and other river users while listening to the music.Chill atmosphere, open to all ages, a nice little festival without the crowds. We'll come back and I hope will come early to see the floats.
So what kind of festivals do you like? Big sure value or little local ones?
