Giovanni has used the set of two EUROPA stamps issued on May 9, 2011 (Europe's Day) by the "Poste Italiane".
Pour rappel, le thème des forêts ("Le Foreste" en italien) a été choisi par l'organisation postale européenne PostEurop en 2011, déclarée Année Internationale des Forêts par l'assemblée générale des Nations Unies.
Environ 31% du territoire italien est couvert de forêts, principalement dans la région alpine, dans le nord du pays.
Maria Carmela Perrini, la conceptrice de cette série, a représenté deux types de forêts sur ses 2 timbres, une forêt tempérée de montagne a priori avec un écureuil et des champignons (timbre à 0,60€) et une surprenante forêt tropicale a priori (présence d'un colibri) incluant un sapin dans le fond (timbre à 0,75€)...
As a reminder, the theme of Forests ("Le Foreste" in Italian) was chosen by the European postal organization PostEurop in 2011, declared International Year of Forests by the United Nations General Assembly.
About 31% of Italian territory is covered by forests, mostly in the Alpine region in the north.
Maria Carmela Perrini, the designer of this series, has featured two different types of forests on her two stamps, a temperate mountain forest a priori with a squirrel and mushrooms (€ 0.60 stamp) and a strange rainforest a priori (with a hummingbird) including a fir tree in the background (€ 0.75 stamp)...
