Danger Beach est le groupe de LA Thomas, transfuge du groupe lo-fi noise pop Assassins 88. Inspiré par le single "Apache" de leur album, l'illustrateur néo-zélandais Ned Wenlock et l'animateur Rodney Selby ont donc réalisé cette excellente animation à découvrir.

"Cette vidéo a été très amusante à faire. J'avais un personnage d'apache que j'avais griffonné depuis un certain temps mais je n'étais pas sûr de savoir quoi en faire jusqu'à ce que je tombe sur ce single sur un site web appelé New Weird Australia. Le single était parfait, je suis entré en contact avec le groupe (Danger Beach) et j'ai commencé à griffonné quelques idées" (Ned Wenlock, cf. http://oneedo.posterous.com).
"J'ai aimé l'idée d'un apache voyageant depuis chez lui avec plein de moyens de transport démodés pour finalement se voir avaler par la ville moderne, donnant un sentiment de nostalgie - semblable au début du film "Midnight Cowboy" avec son titre "Everybody's Talkin’" (Ned Wenlock, cf. http://motionographer.com/theater/ned-wenlock-apache-for-danger-beach).

Danger Beach is the band of LA Thomas, alter ego of lo-fi noise pop band Assassins 88. Inspired by the single "Apache" from their album, New Zealand illustrator Ned Wenlock and animator Rodney Selby have therefore made this excellent animation to discover.

"This video was a lot of fun to make. I had an Apache character I'd been doodling for a while (read doodles post from last year) but I wasn't sure what to do with him until I came across this track on a website called New Weird Australia.
