Vendredi avec un beau temps ensoleillé nous avons décidé d'aller marcher dans la foret de Bent Creek. On sentait une odeur bizarre par moment, un peu citronnée. Au début on se disait que quelqu'un avait abusé du parfum. Finalement j'aurais préféré.
Bent Creek étant une forêt expérimentale, les services forestiers font beaucoup de plantations, de test et autre. L'odeur n'étais pas un parfum mais un pesticide. Biodégradable ou pas ce n'est pas agréable. J'ai fait une recherche rapide et il n'y a pas de résultat d'études négatifs sur l'homme mais bon ca reste un pesticide et pas quelque chose que je souhaite rencontrer en randonnée.
Friday with the beautiful sunny weather we went for a walk in Bent Creek Forest. We smelled something odd at times, a bit citrusy. At first we thought someone had abused the cologne a bit. I think I would have preferred that.
Bent Creek is an experimental forest, the forest service does a lot of plantations, tests and more. The smell was not a perfume but a pesticide.
Biodegradable or not it's an unpleasant thought. I did a quick research and scientific research says it's not dangerous for mankind, but it still remains a pesticide and not something I look forward to encounter when hiking.
