After a full year of electronic music, which I think was globally worst in term of quality and commercial tracks, than last year (you just need to listen to the radio), I made my selection of the 20 best tracks of the year 2010, mostly from Germany. As you will see in the playlist, all songs are from 2010, with 2 exceptions: the first track from dOP who has reached the upper class in 2010 and the track of Black Raw that I discovered by chance. The rest is a very good 2010 vintage wine.

As we mentioned above, this summary mix of 2010 has a highly German tendency. It begins with the revelation of the Mobilee imprint: the French guys of dOP, with the magnificent voice of the track "Horny". This early tech-house and minimal set goes also with the new version of "Angola" from Cesaria Evora and remixed by the Spanish producer David Herrero.

Then there is a roster of German resident DJs. Indeed, there is the track of Butch "No worries" and its heady vocal loop, named best track of the year in Ibiza bythe DJ Award ranking. It is followed by the production of the rising producer Zeyss Marvin. The tech-house atmosphere continues with the well-known producers like M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade for their comeback on "Donut".

Then we enter in a housy phase with the beautiful piano remix of Simon Baker and "Love Emulator", which marks the return of Lifelike. This housy phase is an open door for the Swedish music with the sounds of Eric Prydz, Steve Angello and the Swedish House Mafia with "One", a track that hits the clubs all year long. Then, Deadmau5 creates a massive track in collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner, the master of electro. Follows, one of the best tracks of the year and that is another comeback, the one of Demon, the French producer notably known for the song “You are my high”. He signed a smashing comeback with "I think".

The end is a complete eclectic mix with a remix of Dido from Armin van Buuren, before we concluded perfectly the best of of 2010 with the latest musical pearl of label Kompakt: the producer Kolsch....

2011 sounds to be a promising year and will be certainly dominated once again by the Germans, notably Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin who will be probably the leading figures of 2011, with their new upcoming album "Luna". ...

Après une année chargée en musique électronique, qui je pense s'est appauvrie (il n’y a qu'a écouter la radio), j'ai tout de même réussi à faire une sélection des 20 titres qui m'auront marqué durant cette année 2010, avec de nombreuses sorties très intéressantes, nous venant surtout d'Allemagne. Comme vous le verrez dans la playlist, tous les titres sont de 2010, à part 2 entorses dont le premier titre du groupe dOP qui aura atteint les sommets en 2010 ainsi que le titre de Black Raw découvert par hasard. Le reste est un millésime 2010 de très bonne cuvée.

Comme évoqué ci dessus, le set récapitulatif de cette année 2010 est à forte tendance allemande. On commence ainsi avec la révélation française du label Mobilee dOP et son titre au vocal magnifique "Horny". Ce début de set tech-house/minimal s'enchaine avec la reprise d’"Angola" de Ceseria Evora remixée par le producteur espagnol David Herrero.

Ensuite c'est la brochette infernale des DJs résidents en Allemagne, avec le titre de Butch nommé titre de l'année par le classement du Dj Award "No worries" et son vocal bouclé entêtant. S'en suit la figure montante Marvin Zeyss, producteur amateur qui cherche à se faire connaitre. L'ambiance tech-house se poursuit avec les producteurs confirmés comme M.A.N.D.Y. et Booka Shade pour leur grand retour ensemble sur "Donut".

Puis, on entre dans une phase plus house avec les magnifiques piano du remix de Simon Baker et le "Love Emulator", qui marque le grand retour de Lifelike. Cette phase house est alors une porte ouverte à la musique suédoise avec les sons d’Eric Prydz, Steve Angello ou encore la Swedish House Mafia au complet sur le titre "One" qui aura été incontournable en clubs cette année. Il est en de même pour Deadmau5 qui continue sur sa lancée avec Wolfgang Gartner, maitre dans l'art de l'electro. A cela s'ajoute l'un de mes coups de cœur de l'année avec un autre retour, celui du français Demon qui nous avait bien manqué. Il signe un come-back fracassant avec "I think".

La fin se veut complètement éclectique avec le mélange d’un remix d'Armin van Buuren sur la voix de Dido, enchainé avec la dernière perle musicale du label Kompakt : le producteur Kolsch, histoire de clore l'année en beauté....

2011 s'annonce comme une année prometteuse qui devrait encore être dominée par les allemands dont Marc Romboy et Stephane Bodzin qui seront sans doute les figures de proue de 2011, avec leur nouvel album à venir "Luna"….
