My young sister was cooking some potatoes when she said "what is the band you're listening to?". "Kate and After, I replied.
- Well, it is much better that what you are used to listen to for your stupid Swedish music blog!
- Mmmhh... you think so ?
- Yeah.
- They sent me their songs this summer, but it was during my summer break. Then I forgot to come back to it.
- You suck man!
- Well, I guess it was just a matter of moment. It is actually goddamn catchy!
- Yeah, I told you: much better than all your boring bands. And I like the voice of the singer. It reminds me this band... you know... (singing) "can I get myseeeelf into it, la la lala"
- It reminds me Gang of four.
- Who? No, I don't know them. (still singing) "Can I get myself into it, can I get myself into it".
- Ah, I got it: The Rapture.
- Yes, The Rapture !"
Well, no kidding, this is a true story. Here is Kate and After, a band I should definitely have mentionned back in August when their first EP Things to do was released. Download for free the whole EP on their website. A bunch of very "Franz Ferdinand" catchy tunes. My favourite remains The Pretender. It is my sister's favourite too.

- Ouais.
- Ils m'avaient envoyé leurs morceaux cet été, mais j'étais en vacances. Après, j'ai oublié d'y revenir.
- T'es vraiment un naze !
- Oh, ça va. C'est une histoire de moment, quoi. C'est vrai que ça dépote !
- Ben ouais, je t'ai dit : bien meilleur que tous tes groupes ennuyeux. Et j'aime bien la voix du chanteur. Ca me rappelle ce groupe là... tu sais... (chantonnant) "can I get myseeeelf into it, la la lala"
- Ils me rappellent Gang of four.
- Qui ? Non, j'les connais pas eux. (chantonnant encore) "Can I get myself into it, can I get myself into it".
- Ah, je vois : The Rapture.
- Oui, The Rapture !"
