A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Caroline L’Allemand, journalist for Le Vif l’Express, to be interviewed for an article about Belgian blogs. I found Caroline really passionate and friendly. I have said it before but it’s always a little awkward for me to have a contact with the press. I have never created this blog in the hope of being known. My main goal is to show you new brands and prove that you can be curvy and well-dressed. In any case I really appreciate that the article showcases very different blogs. I think that the media are the ones who can breaks the stereotypes that the fashion industry can have about curvy women and what they expect from fashion. So thank you for featuring me! An yay for diversity!
P.S.: I have never said I looked like Beth Ditto but I’m flattered by the comparison!

Blog To Be Alive
Super Size Me
With a more classical writing style, Blog to be Alive is aimed at “plus size” girls. Her owner, Valerie, shares her tips and tricks, helped with her outfits, to find a look when you don’t fit into a standard size. The blogger knows her subject as she herself wears proudly a size 48. “It runs in the family, we love our curves!” she says. Her model is Beth Ditto, the singer of Gossip, and also the muse of her favourite brand Evans. The resemblance is sometimes striking between the two curvy women. “In Belgium it’s very difficult to find nice clothes in XXL, New Look doesn’t have Inspire (its plus size range) in Brussels, and H&M keeps downsizing its collection Big is beautiful. So I find less glamourous brands and I try to show to my readers how you can make it your own, says the young woman in her thirties.
