English

Tracey Thorn is none other than the former singer of the group Everything but the Girl, which has unfortunately disappeared in 2002. This crystal-clear voice of the English singer and song writer, returned in June with a solo EP "Why Does the Wind?" and a remix by Morgan Geist. The original version is extract from her album "Love and Its Opposite", released in May 2010. Tracey Thorn has lost none of her luster after 18 years of loyal service alongside Ben Watt, whose career was put in brackets for family life in 2000. There were a first come back in 2007 with a disco folk album "Out Of The Woods", and then this new album. Tracey Thorn marks strongly her return into the international electronic music scene.

For the release of this album on Strange Feeling Records, headed by her friend Ben Watt, two tracks have been distributed for free by the artist. First, there were "Oh, The Divorce!" and then "Why Does The Wind? ". More recently, to be exact on August 23, Tracey Horn has released her new EP "Opposites EP" with experimental remixes taken from the album "Love and Its Opposite" with version of Visionquest, Blue Daisy and Walls, available on Beatport.com.

Concerning the remix mentioned above, you need to know first that Morgain Geist, one of the masters of American modern disco, is mostly half of the duo Metro Area (with Darshan Jesrani), and author of the classic "Miura", an house anthem of the 2000s. He offers us a remix of lightness and sensuality of "Why Does the Wind?”. It is a house music track, which really works, partly because of the mix found between the vocal and melody. This remix has a Tiefschwarz’s spirit because of some samples. It is a very good job from the American producer, with a track where the musical tension rises gradually, with some relevant guitar notes to perfect everything.

Tracey Thorn is back for good and this remix by Morgan Geist will hopefully give her a boost for her upcoming productions. Tracey Horn, who released her first album in the early '80s, is still 30 years later at the top of her form and that's good for our ears. Thank you Tracey!

Merci Tracey !
