BULLES DE CULTURE - Vusi Mahlasela
Guitare sèche et voix sublime, Vusi Mahlasela a été un musicien contestataire sous l'apartheid. Il a notamment rejoint le Congrès des Écrivains d'Afrique du Sud, mouvement lancé en 1987 pour promouvoir la littérature et corriger les déséquilibres dans l'éducation sous l'apartheid.
Symbole d'un pays baigné d'influences musicales d'origine africaine et occidentale, la musique de Vusi Mahlasela navigue allègrement entre airs folk et africain.
S'il fallait découvrir un album de ce chanteur, ce serait "Wisdom of Forgiveness" (1995), dédié à la politique pacifique d'un pays en plein changement.

Acoustic guitar and wonderful voice, Vusi Mahlasela was a protester musician against apartheid. He has joined the Congress of South African Writers, a movement launched in 1987 to promote literature and correct imbalances in apartheid education.
Symbol of a country absorbing African and Western influences, the music of Vusi Mahlasela navigates blithely between folk and African songs.
If we have to discover one album of the band, it would be "Wisdom of Forgiveness" (1995), dedicated to the peaceful policy of a country changing.
