Amazon lance le Kindle DX Graphite à 379$

Amazon continue à renouveler sa gamme d’appareils de lecture après une baisse de prix très importante sur le Kindle, il y a deux semaines. Aujourd’hui, c’est au tour du Kindle DX d’avoir le droit à une mise à jour. Au menu, le design de l’appareil reste le même mais il troque sa couleur blanche pour une coque noire graphite du plus bel effet (les rumeurs avaient vu juste !). La firme de Seattle a également intégré la dernière génération d’écran E-Ink 9,7 pouces qui dispose d’un contraste supérieure de 50%. Enfin, le Kindle DX Graphite est moins onéreux que la génération précédente, vendu désormais pour 379$ contre 489$.

Le reader conserve un espace de stockage limité à 4Go (et non extensible par carte mémoire) et sa connexion 3G. En mettant à jour son reader grand format, Amazon lui redonne une chance de séduire ses clients potentiels. En effet, après la disparition d’iRex, les retards à répétition chez Plastic Logic et l’absence des autres fabricants sur ce créneau, le Kindle DX reste le seul reader grand public encore commercialisé. Capable de lire les PDF nativement et disposant de l’ensemble des fonctionnalités habituelles du Kindle, le DX séduira les utilisateurs à la recherche d’un appareil permettant de lire confortablement des documents A4 et en conservant le confort d’une lecture sur papier, grâce à l’écran E-Ink.

Le Kindle DX Graphite est disponible en précommande sur le site d’Amazon, pour une première livraison le 7 juillet. En revanche, si vous ne vivez pas aux Etats-Unis, il faudra vous contenter de l’ancien modèle, en blanc, équipé d’une connexion 3G internationale et vendu au même prix, soit 379$. Le modèle Graphite sera disponible prochainement à l’international.
