Je vous avais laissés alors que nous avions une montagne de terre dans notre jardin. Alors que je me rendais au travail, ils avaient déjà bouche la majorité du trou (nécessaire pour enlever toutes les racines) et a la place il y avait une petite tranchée pour faire le drain.
When I left you we had a mountain of dirt in our yard. When I left for work, they had already filled most of he hole (necessary to remove all the roots) instead there was small trench to do the drain.
Pendant mon absence Hubby a pris le relais avec l'appareil photo. Il les a vu aplanir l'espace devant la maison.
While I was away Hubby took over with the camera. He saw them flatten the space in front of the house.
Puis amener un camion rempli de gravier qui allait devenir nos places de parking.
Then bring in a dump truck full of gravel that would become our parking space.
Sur le cote de la maison il y a maintenant un drain qui permet d'éviter que l'eau s'écoule dans le sous sol. Depuis les travaux nous avons aussi plante quelques graines d'herbes pour aider a tenir le sol et ca pousse un peu.
On the side of the house there is now a drain which allows the water to go away from our basement. Since the work was done we threw a few grass seeds on the ground to help hold the dirt and it's growing a bit.
Le camion est reparti rempli de la souche et des racines, c'est impressionnant l'espace que ca prends.
The dump truck left full of the stump and roots, it's impressive how much space it takes.
Et depuis nous pouvons nous garder cote a cote sans s'inquiéter d'être dans la boue ou d'abîmer le jardin.
Since then we can park next to each other without worrying about being in the mud of damaging the yard.
Je ne pensais pas qu'on allait avoir autant de place.
I didn't think we would have so much space.
A l'origine nous voulions un parking en béton, mais pour des raisons de coût nous avons choisi le gravier. Au final nous avons bien fait car le maître d'ouvrage nous a dit que de toute façon vu tout ce qu'il a enlevé du sol il recommande de ne rien y faire pendant au moins un an pour que le sol se stabilise.
Sur la photo prise de cote vous pouvez aussi voir qu'il y a un espèce de tissu noir (utilise pour le drain)et un tas de gravier qui nous reste. Il nous a conseille d'attendre un peu avant de couper le tissu et de repartir un peu plus de gravier pour que justement la pluie et le poids des voiture stabilise le sol.
Originally we wanted a concrete driveway but because of the cost we decided on gravel. In the end we did good because the contractor told us that in any case given the amount of organic matter he removed from the ground it's best to do nothing for a year so the ground can settle. On the picture taken from the side you may see some sort of black fabric (used for the drain) and a pile of gravel remaining. He recommended that we wait a bit and let the rain and weight of the cars settle things up before spreading more gravel on top and cutting the fabric.
Cout total, inclus le travail fait a l'arriere de la maison $2200.
