Depuis 2007, un festival en l'honneur des personnes de petite taille est organisé annuellement à Standerton, en Afrique du Sud: le Dwergie Fest.
Since 2007, the little town of Standerton, South Africa, has held the annual festival for Dwarf people: Dwergie Fest.To celebrate its third year, organisers wanted to announce in an appropriate way the event, in order to communicate efficiently to the 8000 dwarfs living in South Africa.Indeed, Canvas, a full service advertising agency from Cape Town has realised a customized outdoor campaign, able to catch the eye of drivers and people along the streets. Tiny posters have been installed on street lights and walls, but at dwarfs' eyes level. By the way, it is not a big revolution for outdoor, but just a creative way to make a campaign looking like the audience. It appears to be a simple and efficient idea to make people aware of the upcoming event, which is a way to celebrate and de-stigmatise the South African dwarfs. Indeed, in many countries such as the US, Australia or South African, dwarfs were discriminated and used to become a drunkard attraction in the famous Dwarf Tossing. N.B: Canvas Advertising has recently unveiled a quite funny outdoor campaign for Eyelab services.
