Just before you and your band sold your guitars and bought turntables - you know, much before you and your band sold your turntables and bought guitars - there were all those "alternative rock" bands, those "indie" bands like Pavement. Well, Death In The Afternoon remind me all those bands. I am not too sure it makes sense though since their synthe sounds 1980s. I might have totally lost it. But that's the way it is. Alternative...Indie... Anyway, what I'm sure is that with we have here a very promising band. They do know how to keep it simple and sharp.
Usually I find a young band interesting when it makes one proper great song. Death in afternoon have at least recorded five really good songs, which is actually quite a lot since they have been existed for only a year and since their debut single will only be released this spring. So act like me, put this band (which seems to have never been mentionned in any blog) in your "Swedish bands to keep an eye on". I hope their future is gonna be bright.

Juste avant que toi et ton groupe ne vendiez vos guitares pour acheter des platines - vous savez, bien avant que vous ne revendiez vos platines pour acheter des guitares - il existait des groupes de "rock alternatif", des "groupes indé" comme Pavement. Et bien, Death In The Afternoon me rappelle ces groupes. Vous me trouverez sans doute complètement à l'ouest et je ne suis pas sûr que ce rapprochement soit fondé sur une quelconque cohérence car leur synthé pourrait tout aussi bien évoquer les années 1980. Mais c'est ainsi... Alternatif... Indé... En tout cas, ce dont je suis sûr est que ce groupe est sacrément prometteur . Ils savent y faire pour rester à la fois simples et affutés.
D'ordinaire, je trouve un groupe intéressant lorsqu'il parvient à pondre un excellent morceau. Death in afternoon en ont déjà enregistré au moins cinq, ce qui fait pas mal pour un groupe d'à peine un an, dont le premier single est prévu pour le printemps. Faites donc comme moi, inscrivez ces p'tits gars (dont aucun blog n'a apparemment jamais parlé) dans votre liste des "groupes suédois à suivre". Je fonde pas mal d'espoirs en eux.
