Before I tell you more about the cruise, I'd like to present you our ship. It's the Mariner of the Seas, owned by the Royal Carribean.
She can welcome up to 3114 passengers plus 1185 crew members. She is 1020 feet long with 15 decks/floors acceible to passengers. The ship was built in Finland and has been floating on the waters of this world since 2003. 1557 rooms and 8 bars.
Here is the map of the boat found by the elevators.
Glass elevators allow to travel through the decks.
Looking down.
The Promenade: a large open space in the center of the boat, some kind of artificial street sided by cafés, pubs, bars, shops and the customer service.
There are activities for the youth with video games.
There is even two play rooms, one for teens only the other one for the youth.
For the adults there is the equivalent but more costlyL The Casino. Equiped with slot machines, and playing tables with all you need (roulette, black-jack, pocket). The casino can only be open out at sea and with a certain distance from the coast.
One of the numerous bars of the boat: the champagne bar where we often met before dinner. They had Armagnac (a cousin of cognac from my region) on the menu.
The internet space, minutes at the cost of gold, we didn't use it.
The selling area, to book a future cruise while you're still on board. They have special offers. I think my in-laws used it to plan a futur trip.
The library, I found books in French there :).
The entrance to the amphitheatre where most of the shows are done.
We saw comics, singers, dancers, some on board only for a few days after landing in the closest port of call.
The fitness space (ship shape center) and it's hot tub. Well equiped, I used it a bit, but I mainly used the steam rooma and the sauna in the changing room. I love the sauna.
The photo gallery. Every day professional photographers take pictures of the cruisers, available for sale the next day for $18 each.
The Dining room, spread onto three floors, each with its own name. There are also other restaurants (an italian: Portofino; and a burgers one: Johnny Rockets) as well as the buffet restaurant: The Windjammer.
On the highest desk there is the chapel. The captain can marry you there as long as the boat is at port. I don't think it's valid outside of the boat though.
On the top deck there are of course the lounging chairs, mandatory on any cruise.
The swimming pools and hot tubs. This space is for everyone. Amusing fact, the pools become wave pools at sea due to the movements of the ship. There is also a solarium, far more calm and relaxing for people 18 and over.
A bar for the thirsty ones.
On the aft you'll find the put-put, and the ball court (basket/volley-ball).
As well as the climbing wall.
On the bow there is the running track, not always very practical in the middle of the lounging chairs and with slow walking people not paying attention to runners.
I hope you enjoyed the visit. I didn't take pictures of everything, but it it still give a good idea of the ship.
