La semaine dernière, BandE vous présentait un clip 100 % réalisé par un mystérieux groupe de créatifs, Isitso. A la vue du manque d'informations disponibles et de l'intérêt que nous avons pour ce genre de clips, nous les avons contactés.
Sous le nom Isitso se cache en fait deux britanniques, Jules Bending, agent immobilier, et Gower Preston, consultant graphic design. Originaires de Bath (UK), ils sont à l'initiative d'une plateforme de partage d'idées, Proper Mental: un site où chacun peut proposer et s'impliquer dans ses idées créatives.
Voici les motivations et les raisons pour lesquelles ce clip a eu un tel écho. Pour ne pas nuancer les propos de Jules Bending, nous vous proposons la version anglaise (une version française peut être demandée).
BandE is a collective which aims to identify, analyse and comment the evolutions in communication and advertising. After watching your viral clip, some questions have easily come up to our minds:
What is Isistso ?
It is the project of a communication agency called Isitso. Isitso consists of Jules Bending and Gower Preston. It's a fledging creative agency
Your viral video has been watched by almost 15 000 people in less than one month, that is quite important in such a time period, so what were your motivations to realise and upload that clip on Youtube ? Was the product important in your idea ?
'Domestos' was released after a pr agency asked me to produce a Youtube ad for the brand. They changed their mind before they saw it but by then it was too late. At that point it remained ours and we thought it was too good to hide.
We wanted to show what we could do. The product wasn't important - it could have been for Mr Muscle (another brand) but the idea was.
According to Campaign Live, a spokesman from Unilever denied that the viral clip was one of their projects. Did you feel it was a successful viral clip after Domestos spokesmen were aware of your release ?
I did speak to someone senior at Unilever who said they liked the clip. Weirdly they also said they didn't know the pr company who approached me - a mystery I still haven't solved.
And finally, we would like to know if you have other projects like this one or anything else ?
We have several projects in development ranging from more Youtube clips to audio, print and tv.
Ici, on remarque facilement de quelle manière l'User Generated Content offre des opportunités aux personnes créatives de se révéler. De plus, la frontière entre amateurs et professionnels quelques-fois s'entrouvrent et prouvent que les agences publicitaires traditionnelles ne détiennent pas le monopole de la créativité.
Les sites tels que Eyeka ou encore des évènements tels que le Viral Film Festival qui se tiendra à Paris le 26 Novembre, tendent à encourager les initiatives de novices. Et cela semble fonctionner !
