Samsung surfs the wave of sustainable development by presenting at the Mobile World Congress being held this week in Barcelona, its touch screen mobile Blue Earth solar-powered.
The power via photovoltaic cells integrated into the back of the unit. For added security, the mobile comes with a charger also ecological, that consumes only 30 milliwatts in standby.
Powered by natural light or artificial, the Blue Earth design incorporates a pebble polished blue. To improve its environmental terminal reputation, its hull was developed from PCM plastic from recycled water bottles. Thus, the South Korean manufacturer claims to have used less carbon in its manufacturing process.
With 3G and 3G +, the Blue Earth is full of a 2.8 inch screen, a digital camera of 5 megapixels and an FM radio. This phone is able to play audio formats MP3, AAC, AAC + and WMA and video formats H.264, H.263, WMV9 and MPEG-4.
Eco-friendly: an integrated pedometer Blue Earth
To better emphasize its program The Blue Earth Dream, which aims to help preserve the planet, Samsung offers a few small features to this terminal.
Including the possibility of activating “Eco” mode, to better adjust the brightness of the screen, the duration of the backlight and activate the Bluetooth connection only when needed.In addition, the Eco Walk integrated into the Blue Earth is a pedometer that counts the steps of the user and calculates the amount of CO2 saved by running over the same journey by car.
Samsung has not yet announced the price nor the availability of this new mobile device, but it could be marketed in Europe this year.
