"Le Ceilidh" aux States

   Ce thème est assez réccurent dans le blog et il faut dire que c’est Marina, mon amie actrice et productrice américaine qui me relance régulièrement. Le fait est qu’elle a beaucoup aimé cette production, notamment du fait qu’elle est très sensible à la part celtique de la pièce et à sa dimension « romantique » au sens shakespearien du terme. Une fois le problème de la traduction résolue, elle m’invite à venir produire le spectacle dans cette ville où elle dispose d’appuis divers et d’une troupe d’acteurs professionnels. Je publie cette série d’échanges pour indiquer (à ceux qui comprennent l’anglais) le contenu de sa pensée.

"Actually, I don't anticipate the translation being a problem, since the action takes place in an English-speaking country. The problem will probably be with the accent, considering none of my actors can do a Scottish accent. I'll just have to make them use a British accent."

Well, then, I see no other way but for you to come to the States during your looooong summer vacation and teach a workshop here, in New England, and produce LeCeilidh. That's just how it will have to be. No other solution."

I thought I should introduce you.  Eric(k) is my colleague and penpal from France.  We met discussing Hugo's exile era works online back in 2006.  And Diane is the talented, generous, beautiful director who put "Hugo" on stage.  Perhaps, dear ones, you can exchange tips for stage design.  Eric staged "LeCeilidh", the modern adaptation of "Macbeth".  Remember our discussions about using projector and a white screen?  His wife Jenny is a fabulous choreographer.  Their children also join them on stage.
