Let sum up Absolut Noise: le Frenglish blog about Swedish music which eventually always falls for the Imperial Recordings artists. It happened in 2006: fav album, the first Samuraj Cities record. And also in 2007: fav album, the first Promise & the Monster. Both are signed on Imperial.
Gustaf Spetz, the Eskju Divine singer and songwriter, is important to Absolut Noise : it is this band that has actually made me fall into this weird Swedish music obsession, when I saw them live at the Popaganda festival in 2004. A long story that came to an end : Gustaf has just quit the band to go solo.
While Eskju Divine will probably keep on their work (but apparently not with Imperial), Gustaf will release his debut album Goodnight Mr. Spetz on the 28th of January 2009. You and Me has nothing to do with the famous Wannadies song : it's gonna be the first Gustaf single, released on the 29th of December... and right now, on Absolut Noise (yep, another AbsExclusive !).
A piano, a catchy rhythm and Gustaf's voice : compare to Eskju Divine, it sounds simpler and brighter, less in the sky, closer to the ground. A convincing re-start.

C'est arrivé en 2006: album de l'année, le premier Samuraj Cities. Et aussi en 2007: album de l'année, le premier Promise & the Monster. Deux artistes signés chez Imperial.
Gustaf Spetz, le chanteur/compositeur d'Eskju Divine, a joué un rôle important pour Absolut Noise : c'est ce groupe qui m'a en fait plongé dans mon obsession musicale suédoise, après les avoir vu jouer au festival Popaganda, en 2004. Une longue histoire qui touche ici à son terme : Gustaf vient de quitter son groupe pour entamer une carrière solo.
Alors qu'Eskju Divine devrait poursuivre sa route (apparemment, pas chez Imperial), Gustaf sortira son premier disque Goodnight Mr. Spetz le 28 janvier 2009. You and Me n'a pas grand chose à voir avec la célèbre chanson des Wannadies : ce sera le premier single de Gustaf, dont la sortie est prévue pour le 29 décembre prochain... et tout de suite sur Absolut Noise (eh oui, une nouvelle AbsExclue !).
Un piano, une rythmique efficace et la voix de Gustaf : par rapport à Eskju Divine, le son est plus simple et plus gai, moins dans les nuages et plus proche du sol. Un nouveau départ convaincant.
